I have been painting pictures all my life and now have posted most of my recent work on this website. More is on the way, so do check back. My painting has evolved over the decades, but I have cleaved to somewhat cartoonish figures, ranging from fanciful to political, and my unique color combinations. I have now had two exhibits and appreciate the encouragement I have received to make my work available.

About the Fish

I began painting fish as a three color exercise, pulling the forms straight out of my imagination and committing to never repeating the same color.  Why fish?  They lend themselves to a three-color composition. The recent exhibit gave me the opportunity to see all twenty hung together, with my creations swimming in a kaleidoscopic aquarium.

About People and Other Figments of My Imagination

These paintings have unique origins.  Proghorms were painted after watching herds in the Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge in Northwest Nevada, Flying Coach after a flight to Hawaii, Hands Up after the murder of George Floyd, the medical scenes after a hospital stay, and the smokers showed up in my imagination as I reflected on my current health woes.  Freeway just showed up, and I am glad that it did.
